Back in the late 60’s when most boys were playing baseball, a few of us were just a little different. Somewhere around 14 years old, I laid my eyes on a hot minibike in an old local motorcycle shop near my childhood home. could never afford to buy it then, but the seed was planted, a gearhead was born. From then on, I would scavenge the lawnmower shops, trade off things with other young motorheads, and fitted a bicycle frame with a 3 ½ HP Briggs and Stratten engine. Not a mini bike, but a motor bike. In my circle of friends, everyone had go-karts and minibikes, some of us constantly modified theirs to go faster, my friend even fitted and early 3 speed Volvo trans to one, he was the top dog then, and we became best friends Not too much time passed, before everyone was talking about 55-57 Chevy’s, so at 16, I graduated to my first car, a 57 Chevy 210 post sedan with a 283 and a 4 speed, which I worked on in my backyard. Somehow I always managed to beg, borrow, or steal enough to hot rod the car and get it ready for my 17th birthday. I think I was a fixture at the local Speed Shop (then called J and F Speed) checking things out and dreaming big plans. Well, at 17, I found a 69 Chevelle SS396, fell in love with it, lost all interest in the 57, and from then on, left the fifties behind, and became a sixties car guy. All through the gas shortages of 1974 and up through the seventies, I built, modified and even did bodywork and custom paint on cars in my garage. I have owned and street raced Chevelle’s, early Camaro’s, 442’s, Nova’s, and Corvette’s. I can take one of these cars apart with my eyes closed. In 1980 I opened my auto repair shop and am now in my 30th year in business as an ASE certified Master Tech. I have always had some kind of classic car in the wings doing either a full restore or upgrade of some kind. I know and specialize in 68-72 a-body cars (Chevelle, 442, GTO) and 68-77 Camaro’s. Check out below, some photo's from my past,my HS wheels, a 1969 gold SS396 bone stock before I juiced-up the car in bronze in 1974, 1st customized 66 Corvette from 1977-78 & another 66 wreck restored stock circa mid-80's, 1968 Z28 (check out the Vega in the background, you this one's old!), 71 Nova SB transportation.
